AIB Tappy
It certainly is! If your kids are starting to learn about budgeting and how to be responsible with their money, this is a great way to give them the independence of managing their own funds for the weekend, knowing that there won’t be any tears over misplaced cash. The AIB TAPPY wristband will track all of the purchases made throughout the weekend, so any questions you might have about what they’ve purchased can be answered by logging into your online AIB TAPPY account.
No problem! Just make your way to an AIB TAPPY Bank where our trained TAPPY Tellers will be here to help. You can also email cashless@kaleidoscopefestival.ie and we’ll be right with you as soon as possible.
Unused funds will be available to claim back from 9am on 4th July until midnight on 24th July 2023 via the AIB TAPPY page on the Kaleidoscope website, and the app. The funds will be back into your account within 5-7 working days.
The AIB TAPPY wristband is very secure, so it would be tough to lose and even tougher to break. But in the unlikely event that does happen, no problem! In the case of a wristband being broken, please keep it safe and take it straight to the AIB TAPPY Bank where our team will help you transfer funds onto a new wristband (subject to availability).
Yes! Kaleidoscope families had the option to sign-up for an AIB TAPPY wristband at the first Kaleidoscope Festival in 2019. We had LOTS of feedback from families who missed the convenience and fun of it in 2022, so we are delighted to bring AIB TAPPY back to Kaleidoscope by popular demand!
Other festivals around the world have also run totally cashless events. The success of these and the great feedback from international festival goers encouraged AIB to launch the pilot Irish programme in 2019. The AIB Tappy wristband isn’t replacing card or contactless payments for Kaleidoscope 2023, it’s just offering more options for our customers on how they can choose to manage their money. Replacing our standard festival entry wristbands with RFID AIB TAPPY wristbands in 2023 cuts down on the number of wristbands printed, and makes it more convenient for Kaleidoscope families to use AIB TAPPY this year.
Don’t worry. If you run out, you can top up as many times as you’d like at the AIB TAPPY Bank or using the AIB TAPPY Towers around the site. There are no associated charges with topping up your AIB Tappy wristband.
KALEIDOSCOPE 2023 is a cashless festival, so you won’t be able to use cash or coins onsite; you can exchange cash at the AIB TAPPY Bank to top up your TAPPY wristband. Alternatively, you will be able to use card or other contactless payment types on site.
There is a once-off €1 activation cost for each wristband onsite; after that it is free to top-up and use your TAPPY band!
You can use your AIB Tappy wristband throughout Kaleidoscope to pay for food, drinks, merchandise, activities & funfair attractions.
All vendors at Kaleidoscope festival are set up to accept the AIB TAPPY Wristband.
You can top up your AIB TAPPY wristband at the AIB TAPPY Bank by paying with card, cash or contactless at any point over the festival weekend. You can use the self-serve AIB TAPPY Towers around the site to top up your wristband yourself over the festival weekend, by scanning the QR code and following the instructions on your mobile phone.
No, the AIB TAPPY wristband is also your festival entry wristband for the event, so everyone coming onsite will automatically get a AIB TAPPY wristband.
You have the option to set up an account and preload your wristband before the Festival, but if you choose not to do this you can still top up and use your AIB TAPPY wristband when you get to the Festival.
There are two ways to top up on site:
AIB TAPPY Bank
Make your way to the AIB TAPPY bank near The Big Field. The AIB TAPPY tellers can exchange cash or card payments to top up your wristband for you.
AIB TAPPY Towers
Find an AIB TAPPY Tower onsite (there will be plenty conveniently located around the site-look out for them on the map!), scan the QR code and top-up directly from your mobile phone.
AIB TAPPY is a super easy, secure and convenient way to pay across the whole weekend.
Before the Festival
Before arriving at the Festival, you can set up your TAPPY account on the website HERE and follow the simple steps to pre-load your account.
KALEIDOSCOPE’s helpful on-site team will scan your ticket on entry, give you a TAPPY wristband (which is also your festival wristband!) and link your pre-loaded TAPPY account to your wristband. You can use your TAPPY band straight away.
At the Festival
If you haven’t set up an AIB TAPPY account before you get onsite, don’t worry – it’s as simple as one, two, TAPPY!
Your RFID entry wristband will have a unique identifier number on the back.
Once you get onsite, just look for the AIB TAPPY QR codes – scan the code and it will take you straight to the AIB TAPPY setup page.
Fill in a few details, top up your wristband and you are ready to get tapping.
Every payment point onsite will be equipped with an AIB TAPPY terminal. You simply tap your wristband on the vendor’s terminal and the amount owed is automatically deducted from your wristband. Your AIB TAPPY wristband can be easily topped up at any time over the weekend, at the AIB TAPPY Bank or using your mobile phone by scanning an AIB TAPPY Tower.
Cashless payments can be made at all food and beverage traders, retailers, bars, funfair rides and add-on activities across the festival.
