Celina Buckley

Celina Buckley, is an author, illustrator, artist and teacher with a Masters in Children’s Book Illustration from Cambridge School of Art. Her first picture book is a retelling of ‘The Salmon of Knowledge’ published in 2019. It was used for a storyboarding lesson on RTÉ’s Home School Hub programme in 2020.

Celina will be hosting two different activities over the weekend!

The first activity is Kaleido-Collage: Exploring Imaginary Landscapes!

Embark on a mesmerising journey of creativity at Kaleidoscope Festival with Kaleido-Collage! Children will delve into the captivating world of collage art to create enchanting landscapes bursting with texture and imagination. Guided by Celina, attendees will experiment with a kaleidoscope of materials, as they bring their dream landscapes to life. Through this hands-on experience, young artists will learn about composition, storytelling, and the magic of texture in art. Each masterpiece created will be a unique reflection of the artist’s individual visual language and vision, ready to inspire awe and wonder.

The second activity she will be running is CoverVerse: Design Your Story’s Portal!

Unleash your inner designer and storyteller with CoverVerse at Kaleidoscope Festival! Children will embark on an exhilarating journey of book cover design inspired by the festival’s enchanting atmosphere. Dive into the world of visual storytelling as you explore composition, typography, and colour theory to create captivating book covers. Whether it’s a whimsical adventure, a mysterious thriller, or a heartwarming tale, participants will have the opportunity to infuse their imagination into every detail of their design. This hands-on workshop isn’t just about creating artwork—it’s about crafting the gateway to imaginary worlds and unleashing the magic of storytelling. Each child will leave with a personalised book cover that sparks curiosity and invites exploration.
